Southwick Loans in Statesville, NC matches your request with funding partners, who review it and make their own decision. This page sets out the four steps, what lenders commonly look at, which documents to gather and how long each stage depends on. You choose whether to accept any offer.
Step 1: describe the purpose and the timing
Everything starts with two facts: what the money will pay for and when it is needed. You can give them on a call to (704) 266-1084 or through the short request form, which asks for your full name, phone number and email, your company name if you want to give it, three required picks (time in business, an annual revenue range and a requested amount range) and a consent checkbox. No Social Security number or bank statements are asked for at this point.
On the call we fill in the picture: how the business earns, what it already repays, whether there is a quote or contract behind the request. That conversation decides which of the six structures is worth a partner's time.
Step 2: Southwick turns it into a reviewable request
Southwick Loans is a broker, not a lender. Our job is to turn your situation into a request a funding partner can review: the right structure, the purpose stated plainly and a list of the records that partner is likely to want. If none of our partners reviews your kind of request, we say so rather than sending it anyway.
Southwick Loans is a broker, not a lender.
Step 3: a funding partner underwrites
The partner underwrites the request under its own rules. What do lenders look for when you apply for a business loan from Iredell County, NC? Usually: steady deposits in the business bank account, how long the business has operated, current debts and their payments, the owner's credit and, for secured products, the collateral. The partner may ask follow-up questions or more documents directly or through us.
How long does it take to get a business loan approved once it reaches a partner? Three things set the pace: the partner, the product and how complete the file is. A request with a clear purpose and current statements gives a partner less to chase than one assembled in pieces; we do not promise a timeline because the partner sets it.
Step 4: you decide
If a partner approves, it presents an offer with its amount, term, payment and cost. Read it in full. You can accept, ask questions, negotiate or decline; nothing obliges you to take an offer. If you accept, the agreement is between your business and the partner, and payments go to the partner.
Business loan documents checklist
| Document | Why partners ask | Usually needed for |
|---|---|---|
| Recent statements for the business account | Shows deposits, balances and existing debits | Almost every request |
| Business tax returns | Confirms revenue and profit over time | Term loans and larger requests |
| Current P and L plus balance sheet | Current picture between tax years | Term loans, lines of credit |
| Equipment quote or invoice | Defines the collateral | Equipment financing |
| Debt schedule | Lists every payment already owed | Any request |
| Entity documents and owner details | Confirms who the borrower is | Any request |
Bank statements for business loans are the most requested item by far, because they show real money moving rather than projections. Have them ready as PDFs downloaded from the bank.
What the requirements for a business loan really are
No master list exists. Each partner sets its own requirements, and none publishes thresholds through us. The useful preparation is the same either way: know the purpose, have current statements, and list what the business already owes. Answers to the questions owners ask most often are on the FAQ page; the six structures are compared on the options page; county business figures are on the Statesville, NC data page. Once the purpose is settled, send the short form.
