Contractor financing for Iredell County, NC builders: draws, retainage, crews and equipment, with 2023 Census counts and the structures partners review.
Business loans for Iredell County, NC electricians and electrical contractors: wire and gear stock, van fleets, tools, and the wait for construction draws.
Plumbing and HVAC business loans for Iredell County, NC contractors: service vans, parts stock, system replacements and service-agreement cash flow.
Painters, drywall hangers and flooring installers
Building finishing contractors, the Census grouping for painters, drywall hangers, flooring and tile installers, counted 70 employer establishments in Iredell County in 2023 and 391 nonemployer firms in 2024. Finishers can be paid after framing and mechanical work and may buy materials up front. Working capital that covers materials and wages until the general contractor pays is a natural fit.
Roofers working across Iredell County, NC
Roofing contractors numbered 30 employer establishments in 2023, and 60.0% had fewer than five employees. Roofers buy shingles, underlayment and dumpsters before a job is paid, and insurance-funded jobs can pay slowly. Working capital bridges that gap; trucks, trailers and lifts go through equipment financing instead.
Restaurant business loans for Iredell County, NC kitchens and cafes: equipment, renovations, second locations and card-sales cash flow, with Census counts.
Bars and taverns
Bars were a small group in 2023, 18 employer establishments, below the threshold for a dedicated page. Remodels, draft systems and stock are typical purchases. For permit timing inside a remodel budget, see our NC ABC permits guide; for stock purchases, inventory financing or a line of credit.
Coffee shops and cafes
Coffee shops are counted inside the Census restaurant categories rather than separately, so we have no county figure for them alone. The purchases are espresso machines, grinders, refrigeration and a build-out. Daily card sales can shorten the cash cycle; working capital covers opening stock and the weeks before regulars arrive.
Food trucks
No county figure for food trucks appears in our Census data. The truck or trailer and its kitchen are the business, so funding questions center on the vehicle build. Equipment financing treats the truck and its kitchen as collateral.
Medical practice loans for Iredell County, NC physician offices: reimbursement gaps, EHR and imaging equipment, build-outs and buy-ins, with Census counts.
Dental practice loans for Iredell County, NC dentists: chairs, imaging, office build-outs, practice purchases and working capital, with 2023 Census counts.
Individual and family service providers
Individual and family services, which includes many care and support agencies, counted 58 employer establishments in Iredell County in 2023 with 812 employees. Agencies paid through public programs or insurers can wait weeks for reimbursement while payroll runs weekly. Working capital sized to that delay is a natural fit.
Veterinary practices
There were 29 veterinary employers in the county in 2023, with 341 employees. Practices finance digital X-ray, ultrasound, dental and surgical equipment, and some expand into boarding or a second clinic. Equipment financing covers the machines; a term loan covers a build-out.
Home health agencies
Home health care services counted 14 employer establishments with 282 employees in 2023. With wages as the main cost and reimbursements arriving late, the funding need is often payroll timing, which points to working capital or a line of credit.
Auto repair shop loans for Iredell County, NC mechanics and body shops: lifts, diagnostic tools, parts stock and bay expansion, with 2023 Census counts.
Car dealerships
Automobile dealers numbered 42 employer establishments in 2023, with 1,147 employees. A dealer's funding need includes the vehicles on the lot, which may be funded through floor-plan lines arranged with manufacturers or specialist funders. For used-vehicle stock and shop equipment, inventory financing and equipment loans are where we start.
Car washes
We have no county car wash count in our Census data. A car wash involves tunnels, brushes, dryers, water reclamation and pay stations. Upgrading or replacing that equipment is a typical use of equipment financing.
Gas station and convenience store loans for Iredell County, NC: fuel and store inventory, coolers and pumps, buying a station, and what partners review.
Retail business loans for Iredell County, NC boutiques, hardware, furniture and online shops: stock ahead of sales, fixtures, POS and slow-month gaps.
Grocery stores
Grocery stores counted 40 employer establishments in Iredell County in 2023 but 2,235 employees, about 56 per establishment by our arithmetic. Independent grocers may finance coolers, freezers and shelving, and stock can turn over often. Inventory financing and equipment loans cover the two sides.
Law firm financing for Iredell County, NC practices: payroll between settlements, case-cost timing, office build-outs and partner buy-ins.
Consulting and IT firms around Iredell County, NC
Management, scientific and technical consulting firms counted 179 employer establishments in the county's 2023 County Business Patterns data, 86.0% of them with fewer than five employees. Separately, the 2024 Nonemployer Statistics counted 721 consulting firms with no employees. Consultancies may need little equipment. Their gap is time: a project billed at milestones while salaries go out every two weeks. A business line of credit drawn against that gap and cleared when the client pays is one fit.
Real estate offices in Iredell County, NC
Offices of real estate agents and brokerages numbered 171 employer establishments in 2023, and 95.9% had fewer than five employees, the highest under-five share of any industry in the county list we use. Commission income can arrive at closing rather than on a calendar. Agencies that hire an assistant or add marketing ahead of a listing might use a line of credit rather than a lump sum. Funding to buy investment property is a different product that we do not arrange.
Insurance agencies and their books of business
Iredell County had 89 insurance agency employers in 2023 (83.1% under five employees). One funding question is buying another agent's book of business or a retiring partner's share. That purchase has a known price and a long payoff, which points to a term loan rather than short-term money.
Engineering and architecture firms
There were 71 architectural, engineering and related employers in the county in 2023, with 572 employees. Design firms can carry long receivables on public and commercial projects, and software licenses or survey equipment land as lump costs. One option is a credit line sized to the client who pays last.
Machine shop financing for Iredell County, NC fabricators: CNC machines, press brakes, raw material buys and customers on net-60 terms, with Census counts.
Wholesale and equipment distributors
Wholesale trade had 312 employer establishments in Iredell County in 2023, including 58 machinery, equipment and supplies wholesalers with 723 employees. Distributors can carry stock for customers who pay on terms, so cash can sit on the shelf and in receivables at the same time. Inventory financing secured by the stock is one match.
Food producers and processors
Food manufacturing counted 22 employer establishments in the county in 2023, with 463 employees. Producers may finance mixers, ovens, packaging lines and refrigeration, and some buy ingredients in bulk ahead of contracts. Machines go through equipment financing; ingredients through inventory or a credit line.
Printing shops and warehousing
The county had 12 warehousing and storage employers in 2023, but with 1,761 employees among them, and 9 printing businesses. Both involve expensive equipment: racking, forklifts and dock gear in one case, presses and finishing machines in the other. Equipment financing is one place to start for both.
Salons, studios and laundromats
Chairs, machines and build-outs.
Salons, nail salons and barbershops
Iredell County counted 55 beauty salons, 15 nail salons and 4 barbershops as employers in 2023, and Nonemployer Statistics separately counted 569 beauty salons with no employees in 2024. Chairs, sinks, dryers and a new suite build-out are the typical purchases. Equipment financing spreads those costs over the years they are used.
Gyms and fitness studios
Fitness and recreational sports centers numbered 41 employer establishments in 2023 with 439 employees. Studios finance cardio and strength equipment and flooring, and membership income can arrive monthly. Equipment financing spreads the cost of the gear over its useful life.
Laundromats
No county laundromat figure appears in our Census data, so we quote none. A laundromat is equipment-heavy: washers, dryers, water heaters and change machines are the main purchases, and replacing a bank of machines is a typical funding event. Equipment financing is the natural fit.
Lodging, venues and events
Renovations and uneven bookings.
Spectator sports and event businesses
The Census industry 'other spectator sports' (NAICS 711219) counted 60 employer establishments in Iredell County in 2023 with 1,222 employees and about $147.1 million in annual payroll. Firms in this group may finance specialized equipment, trailers and shop tools. Equipment financing keeps those purchases on their own schedule.
Hotels and motels
Traveler accommodation employers numbered 37 in the county in 2023, with 505 employees. Renovation, when rooms, roofs or HVAC systems need replacing together, is one point at which funding comes up. A renovation is a one-time project with a long payoff, so a term loan is the natural first look.
Wedding and event venues
We have no county figure for event venues in our Census data. The funding pattern can look like this: deposits may arrive months before the event, while improvements such as restrooms, parking or a covered pavilion are built ahead of the booking calendar. A term loan fits a build-out; a line of credit fits uneven months.
Other local business types
Cleaning companies, child care and more.
Janitorial and cleaning companies
Janitorial services counted 51 employer establishments in Iredell County in 2023, plus 7 carpet and upholstery cleaners; separately, Nonemployer Statistics counted 684 janitorial firms without employees in 2024. Office-cleaning contracts can pay a month behind, yet crews draw weekly wages. Working capital covers the lag when a new contract starts.
Child care centers
Child day care employers numbered 34 in the county in 2023, with 434 employees, and only 23.5% had fewer than five employees. Centers may fund classroom expansions, playground equipment and vans, and can wait on subsidy payments while staff are paid. Working capital and term loans cover different halves of that picture.
In short
Southwick Loans in Statesville, NC groups Iredell County businesses by industry, because a contractor, a dental office and a gas station need money for different reasons. Fourteen industries have full pages with County Business Patterns 2023 counts; 26 more have short notes. Funding partners consider businesses across most industries and review each request on its own.
How to read these pages
Each industry page starts with the cash cycle: when money goes out, when it comes back, and what sits in between. From that it points to the two or three structures partners usually review for that business. Census counts come from County Business Patterns 2023 for employers and Nonemployer Statistics 2024 for one-person firms; the two are never added together. For county totals, see the Statesville, NC data page; to compare the six structures directly, see all funding options.
Southwick's partners look at businesses in most industries. A few are outside what we arrange, including trucking and agriculture, and we say so on the first call rather than after paperwork.
